"We work nine to five, with a good hour for lunch. What the hell are you doing from five until you go to bed? Nothing? No wonder you're bored." Harry had been very firm on sticking to normal working hours, and for this exact reason. "I'm just saying that if you don't want to be in the DMLE, if you'd rather work on creating a culture, create a department and run it. No one is saying you can't. Or use your off hours to have fun, create art, make clothes, if it's what you think will give your life value. You can't blame me, or Harry, or the Ministry for not doing that." They were both being ridiculous at this point he thought. "My job as head of the DMLE is to make sure we are ready if we face war, or even if we don't face war I need to run a functional department that does its job. If you don't want to be here, no one is forcing you to be. Find something you really want to do, and do it."
It would be nice if people stopped blaming him, Harry, and Hermione for everything they didn't like about this place. "Did anyone ever say that? That people couldn't request things? Bloody Hell, Harry told Kirley to make a whole damn club. Do we need to explicitly tell people what they can and can't ask for?" He supposed they could do that, but then people would probably get upset with them for micromanaging or something.
"I still don't ever see Hermione caring a bit about a prophecy, but we'll never actually know for sure so it doesn't really matter now. What matters is what we do with any going forward. My vote is to destroy them and obliviate the Seer who had the vision and any witnesses. Then no one can bring it about by trying to avoid it."
