"And how long before we're going to be large enough to make any difference? Thirty years? Fifty? It certainly won't be in the next few years, so if we have that much time, why not take our time so we can have a life in the meantime?" she asked. "What's the point of making things better for the next generation if we're miserable? Because if we are, then we'll give them a great infrastructure and a terrible life."
Parvati chuckled. "Right, provided that the castle lets us, and even if, then what? How does expanding changes anything? We're still dealing with a lot of time and a lot of generations." She put her arms on his desk . "You keep talking about surviving, but life is more than breathing and staying alive. Without music, art, literature life is meaningless. Have we made any attempts to get that? Have we tried to see if we can get the wireless from other countries? We're concentrating so much on the 'Department this' and the 'Department that' that no one has time to discover the fun things. So maybe the fifth day is spent searching for magic that helps us get these things. Malfoy only looks for new records and magazines. Padma only experiments with how to bring the wireless here. I'm sure other people have other ideas."
She rubbed her face with a hand. "What I mean is that while I'm sure that your wedding means a lot to you, it doesn't really increase the social life since from Harry's memories I got that it will be a private thing." She shrugged. "Your niece is a blogger, maybe she can write. Maybe Kirley should have days off to record and we can find him instruments. Maybe we can buy fabric and make clothes based on those magazines. we won't know what else we can do if we're so worried about creating a new Ministry."
She nodded. "I think so. It makes sense I'd say. I can't imagine Hermione being too keen on experimenting, but if she was informed that there's a prophecy about the end of the world, then she might be more likely to do it."
