"The only sad part of this discussion is that if I'm right, I'll be gone and I won't be able to tell you 'I told you so'. Consider it done already." She would also be dead, but she didn't like to think about that part. Instead she smiled at Jamie. "So many compliments tonight. Thank you and while I am awesome, I don't know if I'm so special." She laughed at his hypothesis. "So the castle brought me back to see if I lose it while teaching you all to be normal. Now that I can believe."
She summoned and glass and leaned back as she took a sip of her water, not because she was thirsty, but because she needed time to think. In the end, she told him the truth. "I loved you, Jamie. I thought we'd get married. I can't hate your guts. I don't think it's possible to hate someone you love. You might be hurt and angry but hate is something very different."
Savannah wanted to argue, but she knew he was right. "Also have you noticed how many people don't touch others. Human beings are meant to be touched. There's seriously something wrong when people don't touch. And I don't mean like Sirius does. He's just annoying... and I can't believe I just said that," she said, eyes wide. "I'll help you if you want. With the birthday, I mean."
She nodded. "A nice trip at Les Seychelles would be nice, but alas, we don't know what the castle would do. I worry about that more than the international community and I say this as the top diplomat in this place."
