Any potential tension Lily felt at facing Severus once again was flaring up. Still, she kept the grin in place. She'd been harboring a small amount of hope that she could reignite her friendship with Severus. After hearing what he'd done for Harry, the fondness that she felt for her former friend sparked anew. She had no idea of he would still be nursing old grudges about the James of it all, but they were adults now, and a lot had happened in the intervening years.
She studied his face as she got close enough to get a good look at him. It was odd seeing how he aged. She caught the pause in words and made herself not read too much into it. At least from what she could sense his civility didn't seem forced, which had her believing that perhaps they would be able to at least work together without it being too awkward. If he felt otherwise, then she assumed he would let her know in some fashion. Until then, she was content to proceed as she had been while still taking certain cues from him regarding just how familiar he wanted them to be.
"It's good to see you, as well," she responded before peeking past him at the Venomous Tentacula. "Yes, well, I was told I needed a job of some sort, and apparently some genius already claimed the potions spot, so I thought I could perhaps lend my expertise to assisting with the plants and such."
She watched in slight awe as he wordlessly stopped the Tentacula from grabbing him, shaking her head as an amused laugh fell from her lips. "I should have guessed you would have things under control, for the most part. You've always been quick with a spell." That didn't mean she was going to leave just yet. "I figured I could get a jump on finding out what we have and what we might need."
