Something felt off about Peter, Marlene thought. Not any specific thing really, but something felt out of place. It seemed a silly thought and she let it fade back in her mind. She glanced down at her feet for a moment as she listened. Fifty seven years late? Sure. Marlene glanced up at Peter, hearing his words but not really taking them in. "What?" she asked incredulously. "That's awfully specific," she said with a cheery laugh.
The rest she just humored as she glanced around, waiting and looking for someone to jump out and say we gotcha!. But it really wasn't much of a joke, or even a reasonably passable prank. "I'd say it sounds mental," she said lightly tucking her hair back behind her ear. "And your putting me on," she said with small sigh.
"I'm pretty disappointed. I mean, really. I guess you blokes are a bit out of practice. But come on. A plague and time travel?" she shook her head with a chuckle. "Really, now."
