Sirius nearly pulled away as Remus touched him. It didn't feel right, taking comfort from him now. He knew Remus cared about him, of course he did. But everything would be different now, whether he wanted it to be or not. There would be no more cuddle parties, no more late night sneaking into Remus' room. Regulus wouldn't be okay with any of that. Still, Sirius was selfish, and he let Remus hold him this last time.
"I love you too," he whispered, then tried to fill his voice with bravado he didn't feel. "Maybe I just convinced myself that I did, but it's all your getting from me."
Sirius knew that things with Regulus were complicated. He'd been working up the courage to tell him the truth, tell him everything, ever since he'd talked to Peter. It was going to take a lot longer now...
"It's complicated. Me and Reg. Too much history." Even if they did talk it out he couldn't imagine a scenario where Regulus didn't still think he was just some annoying Gryffindor. There was a chance, maybe, but it wasn't exactly likely. And eventually Remus would spend more and more time with him. It was inevitable. Just another nail in the Marauders coffin.
He soaked in the hug, then fully separated them when Remus pulled away. New boundaries. That was going to take some getting used to.
"I'll always be your friend Moony. I'm too damn selfish to loose any of you. But it's going to be different. You know it is. It's gonna take me some time to, you know, figure out where we stand now. And I don't want to hear about the shagging. No offense mate, but he's still my brother."
