RP: Lucius & Draco
Who: Lucius & Draco
When: 19 June 1996 to 25 Feb 2038
Where: Azkaban then Hogwarts
What: Lucius walks into a prison cell and ends up in a classroom
Lucius Malfoy had one clear thought as he was herded down the stone hallway of Azkaban to his prison cell. It wasn't regret or even anger that coursed through, nor was it utter despair brought on from the Dementors circling around him, leading him to his cell. It was a feeling of stone-cold amusement. Lucius Malfoy had once again been bested by a half-blood child and a few of his friends. Of course, if the blasted Order of the Phoenix and Dumbledore hadn't arrived when he had, they might have prevailed, but it was utterly ludicrous that Potter and his friends had gotten as far as they had without help. What should have been a simple retrieval mission had gone so terribly wrong from the start, and now he was ruined. A Malfoy in Azkaban. It simply wasn't to be accepted.
He tried to bear himself with dignity as he was roughly herded to a stop by the Aurors tasked with seeing the prisoners to their cells. Whatever his status now, he was still Lucius Malfoy and he could conduct himself as such until the Dementors had driven all but despair from his mind. He wanted to believe that he could withstand the horrors of Azkaban as well as Bellatrix and the Lestranges had, but he had to admit that they'd already been insane when they'd been sent there the first time. He was not, and Azkaban was not kind to those in their right minds.
The Auror to his left--Savage, he thought her name was--pushed open the cell as they came to a stop. "In you go, Malfoy," she said, and gave Lucius a firm push between the shoulder blades to get him moving again. He stumbled and closed his eyes as he moved forward. There was a moment of vertigo and then--
He opened his eyes. Instead of the damp stone of Azkaban, he was standing in a different hallway entirely. Still made of stone, but not damp and there was none of the overwhelming despair that he'd felt just moments before. He blinked, placing a hand on the wally to steady himself. "It can't be..." he murmured, straightening and looking at his surroundings. If he didn't know better, he'd say he was at Hogwarts. In the hallway leading to the Potions classroom. He was almost certain of that. But how? Not even Governors could Apparate into Hogwarts, and he hadn't been a Governor for years now. But he was sure this was Hogwarts. He would recognize these hallways anywhere.
"How..." he trailed off again, realizing that whatever had happened, he was at a disadvantage. He didn't have a wand and was still weak from the battle and the Dementors. He didn't need the wand to perform magic, but he didn't like being so defenseless. He needed to get out of the school and back to Malfoy Manor before anyone realized he was here.
