Remus put a hand to his heart and gasped dramatically. "You wound me, Black. Such language snobbery." Putting his arm back around Regulus, -- because it was too nice a sensation, holding him close, not too -- he pressed a teasing kiss to the tip of Regulus' nose. "I can see I'm going to have to brush up on my linguistic origins if I'm going to go toe to toe with you properly."
His grin softened to a war smile. "Most of my boundaries are the result of bad experiences, things that edge toward the more extreme side of rough, which is why I asked you to clarify how rough you wanted it. As long as we talk about the things that bother either one of us, we should be fine. Beforehand, if we can, is best. But, as soon as one of us feels uncomfortable about anything, we talk and we'll be fine. And we should talk about the things we enjoy, too. For example," he said, kissing the side of Regulus' neck, his jaw, then finally his lips, "I really enjoy kissing you."
Remus pressed his lips together briefly, to stifle a renewed grin, but still smiled softly at his new lover. "You wouldn't scare me with the word marriage for precisely that reason. Serious doesn't need to mean marriage soon. And, we're very new. I don't know about you, but I'd like to take my time and enjoy the journey along the way." And he still thought them both too cautious to jump into that kind of long-term commitment after only a couple months. Even if they did turn out to be soulmates, as meant to be as James and Lily, neither was likely to rush into it. "I wonder if that was true of our generation, though. Or, if so many of us looked at the war and rushed to get married before one or the other could get killed. Harry's generation, they were younger than we were when their war came to a head. I'm sure that changed their perspectives." He thought about Harry's children, what they'd learned from having James and Lily's memories, attending lunch for a week. "I wonder how many other marriages were like Harry's, convincing the children it was a bad idea to rush in, due to what they went through. Not that I think you're wrong. I can see the Ministry's fear. Too bad they lost track of all sanity when trying to fix the problem as they saw it."
