Re: James & Lily
"No idea," he shrugged. "And hey! We both know you're in charge of me really. I just pretend you're not for the sake of my poor, fragile ego." He put a hand on his chest, feigning hurt. Thankfully, James' ego was a lot less delicate than it had been, even if it was still a fairly healthy size.
"That was an excellent day," he smiled happily, sitting back in his seat a little. It already felt like forever ago, although it must have only been a few months. If you'd told him then where they'd end up... James cast another look around the club, not really paying attention to much else other than the woman sat beside him.
"That does help." He turned back to Lily, happy enough to be right where he was. Now that she was here, it seemed even stranger to him that he'd managed nearly two months here on his own. Sometimes James had to pinch himself to believe she actually put up with him - he definitely didn't deserve Lily, but he was incredibly grateful for her.
"Yes," he told her, still grinning. "Absolutely. I'm taking our new role as parents to a twenty-something very seriously." He ignored the obvious pun because honestly, sometimes they were too easy.
James leaned forward and kissed Lily again - quickly, then not so quickly. It was easy to get caught up in her. When he finally drew back, however, it was to gently pull her into a standing position by their joined hands. "Come on. I'll even let you pick the bottle."
