James & Lily
"Oh yes, I remember him mentioning a Ron, and a Hermione," Lily trilled happily. She was getting better at recalling specifics from the information dump she received previously. Not that it matter at the moment.
"But there might have been enough alcohol to bolster that Gryffindor bravery." Lily had an idea of what James wasn't asking, and kept her answer to herself. She didn't want to potentially ruin what was turning into a rather fun evening.
Pleased that he wasn't going to press the issue, she sat back in her seat. "Yes, but will I like what I find?" Lily queried, blushing at his faith in her. She never doubted James' loyalty and belief in her. He had a way of making her feel like she was the only person in a room packed with people, and it helped her poise immensely.
"It's been a fair time since I did anything fun," she pointed out. "Unless you're thinking of the dance parties I would throw for baby Harry to help get him to stop crying."
Putting her now empty glass back down, Lily licked her lips as she waggled her eyebrows at James in response. "Worry not love, you're the only one I'd trust to help me relax."
Lily felt her breath catch in her throat when James pushed her hair behind her ear. "Being here with you makes it much easier to imagine living a 'normal life'." She paused. "I was going to ask for another beer, but I'm not sure that's such a wise idea."
