Lily laughed as well. "I don't drink often, and when I do it's not to excess, but sometimes you have to do something slightly reckless to shut up the cute but annoying knob who thinks he likes you." It was one of two times in her life that Lily had gotten so drunk that she could barely remember what she ended up doing. Both times, she was around people she trusted. "It's alright, it's not easy adjusting to something like this." She reached out and gently rubbed Lilu's back.
"We could, but we might need someone to help us learn it. A Magizoologist of some sort." She was going to do whatever she could to keep Lilu in a relatively good mood since she knew all too well how hard it could be pushing past the sadness of losing friends. "Yes, he collects all the hot gossip. Nothing slips past his tentacles, regardless of how secretive you might think you're being."
If she was being honest with herself the admission that she flirted with her husband without knowing who he was probably wasn't the best topic of conversation with her granddaughter, but it was too late now. "I'm going to guess they present a very idealized view of the events of the First Wizarding War." Which was ridiculous. Neither she or James considered themselves martyrs, just two young parents doing whatever they could to protect their child from a psychotic mad man. "I was a mother, and a caretaker to four rowdy boys. I can't see those skills translating well into a job. Not unless there's a day care here." She also had no clue what type of jobs were available.
