Lily enjoyed waking up early. There was something calming about getting up before Harry and James, making herself a cup of coffee, and just getting her mind right before starting her day. Therefore, much as she disliked leaving the warm comfort of her bed with James, she was thrilled for a chance to get some one on one time with Lilu. She was genuinely elated to be a grandmother, and wanted to be there for her grandchildren like she couldn't be for her Harry.
She had expected to be out there before Lilu, but time got away from her. There was just so many differences between the castle now and how she remembered it, that she was starting to think she'd need a map to navigate it the way she used to.
Instantly apologetic, she was all smiles when she saw Lilu. The gorgeous young woman was even more radiant outside than she was during the family lunches. Of course, she got the impression that Harry's kids were more subdued during the lunches because they found it a little awkward, but she didn't know the whole story yet.
"Morning, love! I wouldn't mind taking a walk down by the lake. It's been a while since I visited the monster."
