Sirius just shrugged, suddenly sheepish.
"I liked being a godfather," he said simply. "I liked spoiling Harry. And you two deserve to get all the things you didn't have last time." Being Harry's godfather was as close as Sirius would ever get to his own children. He'd never have a family like that, but he could live vicariously through Lily and James.
"I'm always here Lils. I can even promise to keep my mouth shut with James. And you know how hard it is for me to not tell him things. That's how seriously I take your confidence." Maybe he would tell her, one of these days. She probably had some good ideas about how he could approach Regulus with the truth. But not yet. Not today. This was too nice to ruin.
