James grinned crookedly at Sirius' exclamations, then immediately felt guilty about it. He should be doing something, right? Anything. Just to get back to Lils and the baby and maybe start putting things right. Because there had to be a way, didn't there? Even after what grown-up Harry had said, James had to believe there was a way to fix this, because otherwise what was the point?
"Hmm?" He started back to earth, glancing over at Sirius, who seemed to have maneuvered himself into some sprawled position across his legs. The warm, heavy weight was strangely comforting. "Oh, right. Is that what's happening?" He shifted his leg slightly to give Sirius a sharp, yet fond nudge in the ribs, before yawning and sagging back against his pillow. His attention shifted to Remus who, unsurprisingly, had his nose in a book.
There was something different about Moony. He supposed he shouldn't have been surprised, what with everything that had happened, or would happen. It had been bad enough in his time, when Remus would vanish for weeks at a time on suspicious missions. But his friend carried himself differently here, like he had the world on his shoulders. Not to mention he didnt exactly look the picture of health. Was it the moon coming up, or was it more than that? James added it to his mental list of things to worry about. He could just ask, of course, but he'd learned over the years that you sometimes had to move carefully around Remus.
