Savannah sighed. "I suppose that while we don't know everything, we all have some stories." She'd heard enough about the band forming at school, and how new members joined. She knew about her mother's cheating in her potion OWLs because of a dare, even though she had no intention of taking it the NEWT level class. "I'm sorry you don't."
She massaged his neck. "You can't fix him, Jamie. He's ... he's a child soldier. There's no way to come back from that. He's never going to be normal. Your Uncle and Aunt are never going to be normal. That's why they are brilliant and symbols, but heroes are rarely great people. Maybe that's why he didn't want you to know him. He knew how broken he was and that was his way to protect you." She had no way of knowing if it was true, but Savannah liked to believe the best in people and Harry Potter was a protector above all.
"If there's one thing you should take from this is that you can't become like him. You don't have a war to fight and you have people who care about you. Albus and Lilu would do anything for you just as much as you do for them. I've always wanted to be there for you as well, and things are different now, but we're still friends," she said softly. "You don't have to be him."
