"I don't want him to be who he ended up as," he admitted quietly, even though Scorpius likely already knew. He had hated seeing his father as the empty, broken man he'd become. The urge to forgive him and go back to being his father's golden child was so strong sometimes that Draco had to consciously fight it. He couldn't be that person anymore. He had worked so hard not to be that person anymore. It was one of the reasons he fought against forgiving his father as much as he did.
