"I'm sure," he said, chuckling. He couldn't even fault Ron for his choice. He might have never had what they had, but he would have liked to have it. He almost thought he could have it. Cassandra had been so kind from the first day. "I don't know if anyone can understand without being him and you were the lucky one that got to experience it. It could have been worse, you could have been him without Lily around."
What Remus experienced was a little like James' love. They were there to witnessed it, they helped, they saw the bad and the good, but he doubted any of them would truly understand. "Are you all right now, though? Other than the restlessness?" he asked because that was the most important part. "One of us three would have been terrible' he murmured. "There would have been even more of a shift if friendships. If you like him then it's probably for the best."
Peter shrugged. "I like Cassandra. I really did. She was kind and understanding and we sort of got each other. It wasn't like Lily and James, but maybe we could have been with time. I'll miss her. It kind of feels like the war, with people dying and disappearing and you just shrug and move on, because what else is there to do?"
