Huffing, he shook his head. "You're right, the castle wouldn't use human logic. But, there has to be some internal logic. That's what we need to figure out." Frowning gently, he thought about what Peter was saying. "You might be on to something, though. Regulus, Sirius, myself, and Ron were the first to arrive. Sirius, Regulus, and I all have ties. So, then Harry and Draco appear, giving Ron ties as well. Sirius couldn't deal with James' death, so the castle brought James. We needed into the Headmaster's office and the castle needed a Headmaster, so we got Snape. And we all needed the information from the future Savannah could provide. Harry had his father, so the castle brings Draco's father as well. And Savannah's, as well as Dumbledore who could, in some ways have been a father figure for any of us as well as a back-up Headmaster..."
He smiled and slung a companionable arm around Peter's shoulders. "I'm always going to be here for you when it counts, Peter. Things won't be the same because we've lived through some things that have changed us. Hopefully, James won't be the only one of us to find his perfect soulmate. We'll find new people to be friends with like Regulus or Cassandra. Sirius seems intent on adopting Harry's daughter as the next generation of Marauder. But, we'll still have each other." Curious he cocked his head. "I'm always careful with Sirius. But, yes, Regulus is easy to talk to and I do like him."
Remus laughed softly. "Obviously," he echoed with one of his soft not-smirk smirks. "She was a very nice woman, after all." And Remus was glad someone could put that smile on Peter's face.
