"I can't imagine you had to try that hard. Those idiots believed that my brother would betray Potter," he said, rolling his eyes. "They should have known. He would have never, if only not to give my mother the satisfaction to know that he was on their side."
Regulus wasn't really surprised, but it was interesting to see that Ron, a Gryffindor sounded bitter than Severus about the entire situation. Maybe the shine had gone away with time. "Well, compared with the Carrows, he was a genius. I bet you enjoyed being Headmaster as much as he hated it, knowing that you were his boss."
He snorted. "I can see your wheels spinning. You might need words for me to understand. I wouldn't do something as crass as trying legilimency on a friend," he teased.
"Can you blame them? I wouldn't want to caught in the middle of a war, and when they thought things were getting better, the Ministry tries to meddle with things they don't understand. There's a reason why we don't deal with Muggle technology." He shrugged. "It looks like St. Mungo's was going through its own minor war, the old timers rejecting Muggle science and the new Healers talking about medicine and other stuff. You can say that the pendulum swung the other way and this happened. Apparently we aren't to assign blame, but I can't help being a little smug that purebloods were on the right side of things."
