"I wonder if there are any recordings left. I'd love to hear what they sound like. What were their musical influences?" Growing up, Remus' musical education had been primarily classics and folk songs. But, spending more and more time in the muggle world, around werewolves, dealing with his own growing sense of anger and bitterness in the last few years, he'd become very drawn to the harder side of rock music and the punk music that had been growing in popularity during the seventies, the so-called 'metal' that was starting to gain more traction now...or, ...then.
"Fair enough. Having recently found out about the wife I married fourteen years into my future, I suppose you have a point, there." So far he hadn't spoken of it to Tonks and that was the way he intended to keep it. As far as Remus was concerned, his older self had clearly been depressed and desperate in the middle of another war, not thinking rationally, or he never would have risked getting involved with someone seriously. Hell, he was very happy to have gone a week and a half without having to screw someone to afford dinner.
"They do usually believe they know better than anyone," he agreed. The war hadn't given Remus any reason to think kindly on the Ministry, in fact, just the opposite. Smiling, he nodded. "I'm not a huge quidditch fan. But, I pick up spells rather quickly if you want to tell me how I can help you secure them." Biting back a silent sigh, he held his breath to see if her reaction to his name would be the same nonchallance as everyone else's had been so far. He certainly hoped so. Or, better yet, non-recognition entirely. "And my name is Lupin. Remus Lupin."
