"Imagine being here and not knowing what was happening." Finding the pieces was like some sort of jigsaw puzzle. Peter would have enjoyed putting the pieces together, but he knew the frustration that could build up. "We're lucky that we have some answer but in a way, everyone goes through the same stages when they arrive here. You still mourn what you lost and are thankful for what you're gaining. That doesn't change."
That was the compromise they could both live with. Peter would make sure that Lily had the time to sort them out before anyone did something crazy with them. "And you won't. We'll sort them out and say what's useful. No sense in sharing things that are too vague."
Peter smiled. "I have those on occasion," he joked. "It sounds like you've found something to do and now let's get some breakfast."
