Re: James | Remus
"Fair enough," Remus agreed with a nod, a half smile softening his expression. It was the best he could ask for, really, and more than enough, considering he didn't think James would concede even that much if he didn't mean to try.
As he grabbed his denim jacket, he shot his friend a grateful look. Remus knew he'd have given in...eventually...and stayed in bed, going barmy with the inactivity, if James had asked. He had too much trouble saying 'no' to his friends, even if James didn't have Sirius' knack for convincing Remus to never hold out as long as he should.
"Of course," he said gamely, catching the bundle tossed toward him. "Wouldn't want you to end up sleeping on the stairs somewhere, after all." His stomach rumbled a bit as the smell of food finally registered with his still sluggish brain. "Thanks, Prongs." The gratitude could have been taken in many ways. Thanks for the food. Thanks for not arguing. Thanks for checking up.
As they headed for the door, Remus figured James would understand he meant all of them.
