Re: Regulus/Jamie
"You know, none of the stories painted you as a prat, Black." If Jamie could stop grinning, his words might have come out more serious.
Still, the image of the past that was being painted for him seemed very...well, grim. And there were probably other points he should address first, but the bit about Sirius had Jamie frowning in a second. "Wait. Why would you want to hex each other? I mean, okay, I get holding grudges, even if I don't hold them about school quidditch games. But, not against my brother. I'd be the first to hex someone into oblivion for going after Al or Lilu." Was that why Dad had never talked about Regulus? Some sort of grudge and he was on Sirius' side?
Sighing, he shook his head. "You may be right about the traits. Although, my Uncles Bill and Percy could sound like Ravenclaws, too, and they were both Gryffindors. Society changed after the war. The most prominent families weren't primarily from the old families that mostly fed into Slytherin. They were still there. But, my Dad, his friends, their families, they were running the country. They determined the things that were important in society." Whether they could see it or not. "But, they weren't Slytherin, they didn't do things because of tradition but because they were trying to change the world. So, we grew up with different outlooks."
