Re: Savannah/Jamie
"Is it something with famous dads," Jamie asked, "that they suck at emotionally supporting their kids? Scorpius' dad being the exception. Mr. Malfoy always seemed like his world lit up when Scorpius was around." Maybe Harry dating Draco Malfoy would be a good thing. He could learn a few things from him. Shifting, he put a companionable arm around her shoulders. "I'm sorry he said that to you."
Sighing, he squeezed her shoulders briefly before dropping his arm. "I stopped telling my Dad how I feel a long time ago when all I got in return was another lecture on doing the right thing or being grateful I didn't have to go through what he did at my age." He huffed softly. Much as he hated it, he knew he was a lot like his father. He tried not to be. But, he wasn't always successful. "I'm that bad at this, huh?" It was a rhetorical question, of course. He knew he closed himself off, kept people at a distance. It made sense, from a safety and privacy point of view in the public eye. But, it had also been the reason they broke up four years ago, the reason he never got serious with anyone.
"Thanks for being a friend, Savannah." Especially with their history, he knew a lot of people wouldn't give him the time of day in her position, Potter heir or not.
