Re: Savannah/Jamie
"Al could if he wanted, he just don't have to because I will for him," Jamie retorted with a smirk. Someone had to show his siblings they were proud of them. If it wasn't going to be Mum and Dad, it was sure as hell going to be Jamie. "Sirius? Well, I didn't say Potters had the market on bragging cornered. And, really, if he's James' best friend, he'd have to be able to keep up with him." Or vice versa. Jamie thought trying to figure that out was a little like the question of the chicken or the egg.
He burst out laughing as she went on. "Aunt Hermione as his agent is even funnier. She would have supported him entirely, convinced the league to waive salaries as a rule and donate anything above their idea of a reasonable amount to S.P.E.W. And then she would have leveraged that into politics somehow." He really couldn't see his aunt anywhere but the Ministry. She was made for it, really. If only she hadn't listened to the people in Mysteries who wanted to do these experiments.
"Oh, there's always a good reason. It's the patience and willingness to see the other point of view that is often lacking." Honestly, when Lucius Malfoy was the voice of reason in a room, that was saying something. "Trust me, been there, done that, just not in an official capacity. I need to get a better handle on the international players out there, though. If Harry had his way, we'd have zero communication with anyone outside our borders until they proved useful to us. I'm sure he has no idea how blind we'll be going into things that way. But, that is a worry for another day. How are you doing with him? Did things work out with the other things you'd volunteered for?"
