"See that you do. Everyone needs to, even if they're capable of defending themselves. I still need to know where people are." If anyone went missing...well, no one had yet, but the practical part of Ron knew it was only a matter of time. Prepare for the worst, constant vigilance, and all that. "I have, actually. It's at the top of my list of things to see to."
He studied Nott, then continued, "Did you have a suggestion on that? I'm open to them." He wanted to talk to James about maybe making a new kind of Maurader's Map that could see to that function, but other ideas wouldn't hurt.
"Are you saying you don't think I need to be charmed? Nott, that hurts my feelings," Ron said, smiling just a bit to show he wasn't being serious. "Constant vigilance in all things and that includes the sky." He didn't understand wanting to walk around and think about things, but it was something he was getting used to. Being here, being in charge of the DMLE, required a lot of thinking. His brain hurt from it. "Yeah, I get it. Sorry about going off I guess. I jumped to conclusions."
They started to walk, and Ron was almost surprised by how not surprised he was when Nott jumped right to the pink Erumpent in the room. "Yeah, I guess they do." He forgot sometimes that Malfoy had friends too, which may be said a lot about the fact that Ron pretty much only thought about Malfoy in conjunction with Harry these days. "Harry would appreciate it too." Well, Harry-the-Minister would, probably. Harry-the-boyfriend probably didn't give a good goddamn, but he wasn't going to tell Nott that.
"So. It's weird, right? Harry and Malfoy? I honestly thought if it was ever going to happen it would have been in sixth year."
