Ron blinked at her, then a slow grin blossomed across his face. "Did you just propose to me?" The grin grew, he just couldn't help it. "Where's the ring? I always had a ring when I proposed to you." He knew he was being a little bit of an arse about it, but then he wouldn't be Ron if he wasn't a little bit of an arse when things got emotional.
"I love you, almost as long as I can remember, even before I knew what I was feeling. You were right before, to want to wait, to figure things out." He pulled back a little, just so he could see her face better. She was looking at him intensely, and he could read exactly what she was thinking on her face. "This isn't an 'it happened in the future so we might as well get it over with thing' is it?"
He didn't wait for her to answer, before moving on. "Because I don't want to marry you because my future self did. I want to marry you because I want to marry you, and that made a lot more sense in my head." Merlin, he really was terrible at these things. Maybe it was a good thing she was the one to propose this time around.
"In case that wasn't clear, yes. Let's get engaged."
