"I never liked killing magical being, even if Sirius does his best to make one lose his patience," he said, although he had no intention of killing his brother. Hurt his ego, definitely.
"I had thought of that too. My arrival is easy, I die, but you still remember my brother in prison. Ron remembers you, Sirius and Tonks as if you never left. Unless we're saying that there are two of us, that the moment Hogwarts plucked us out, then we have one person left behind going through the motions and our current version. And if that's true, then what happens if we go back. Do we merge with that person and forget everything? And if that's true, why go back? There's literally nothing for us but-" He waved a hand. "This. Even the ones who didn't die in the war will die because of this spell. There is much to be considered. There's even more to do to convince my brother that we aren't going back and fixing everything."
Regulus shrugged. "I don't know for certain, but it's almost six hundred miles of tracks. I can't imagine anyone bothered to hide all of them. It would be like one of the many abandoned things in this country." The Ministry was never very logical in what it did, but Regulus could also imagine that the Department of Magical Transportation didn't give a rat's arse about tracks in the middle of nowhere. "And we have too many Gryffindors at the moment. That's a very scary proposition."
He wasn't sure it was something to dismiss. "But the combination of werewolf and wizard could work to our advantage. It is something to consider for the future, if you are comfortable with the idea. For now, I think I need to do some studying so I can get that potion ready."
