"Perhaps, since there are so few of us, keep it non-lethal even if he hexes back?" Remus wouldn't hope for legal. He suspected most of the people who had been brought here so far were very adept at drawn to various spells and magics that weren't strictly legal -- whatever legal was now that they were the entirety of magical society in Britain now.
He nodded as Regulus went on. Different phrasing and focus, but it seemed like they were essentially thinking along the same lines. Too many variables. "Tonks suggested the possibility being pulled out of our timelines has actually created alternate timelines running in parallel, now. So, we might not even all end up back in the same timeline if we go back. You could go back and fix yours, while mine continues the same until I go back. I'm not sure what to think about that, honestly. Although, I begin to thoroughly understand in new ways why Time is one of those areas of magic that's restricted in practice." Trailing his fingers lightly along the wall as they walked, he thought that (despite the circumstances) he did appreciate being back at Hogwarts, the familiar corridors reminders of somewhat happier times.
"Can they see the train tracks?" he wondered aloud. It wasn't something he'd ever thought to question, but perhaps he should have. Remus had taken it for granted that since they went to so much trouble to hide the platform and the Express' existence, the tracks were unseen by Muggles as well. "You do have a point about the relatives, though." The last thing he wanted to do was endanger someone should Moony get loose, however, so he wasn't eager to push the idea. Instead, he found himself chuckling. "Well, we all know Gryffindor is better known for brash action than forethought," he agreed with a smile. There were days he wasn't certain he belonged in Gryffindor, honestly. But, the Hat had insisted that merely being at school while being a werewolf was brave enough for five Gryffindors. Remus still wasn't sure about that.
"I wasn't actually thinking about doing the recon at the Full. While the form gives me certain physical advantages, I'd prefer to have access to my magic. Most things in the Forest, at least in our day, that would eat a wizard are also a decent match for a werewolf in a physical confrontation," he explained. "But, we do need to know what we're dealing with."
