Peter responded once more agreeing to go right now and then went out to meet Sirius. When he saw his friend already there, he cast his patronus and watched the silver rat go to Sirius. “These journals are convenient, but I miss the magic. I get that whoever invented them used a lot of magic, but it’s different from using your own.”
He stopped in front of Sirius as the patronus disappeared. “I’m glad you wrote. I wanted to talk to you, but I figured you needed time and space.” And James had been pretty explicit about that. “This shouldn’t have waited. I shouldn’t have waited though, because it’s a long time coming.” Their problems started long before they finished school, but it was easier to ignore when living safely in the castle. Now it would be easier to ignore them once again, but it was time that he found his Gryffindor bravery and told the truth. He’d rather lose his friends than pretend to be friend. And it did work out with Remus so there was hope.
