Jamie's eyes narrowed at the appearance of a man about their age. He knew the magic behind a patronus. He'd directed it to 'Harry Potter' specifically. It shouldn't have been able to bring an imposter. If 'Harry Potter' couldn't be found, it wouldn't have been able to bound off as quickly as it had, needing to find the person and failing. Plus, the oldest memories he had of his father tallied with what the man across from him looked like. But, the thing that clinched if for Jamie was the man's stance, the casual confidence despite a lack of a wand in hand, and the protective stance that was so like the one Jamie had taken with his brother.
Was it actually possible this insane story was true?
Nudging Al with his elbow, he lowered his wand. It wouldn't do any good if this was a younger version of his father. And if it wasn't, well, he was his father's son, too.
"I told you I was thirteen and too old for dolls," he said to Ted, who seemed to be heading into a right full nervous ramble and that was the most normal thing about this situation so far.
Still, his attention was focused on the man who could be their father from before they were born. Even if he hadn't been his father, he was clearly the most dangerous of the two and needed the most watching. Lifting his chin in a gesture he'd inherited from his mother, Jamie met the other man's gaze openly. "I have the stag. And I believe there was a request for proof."
