The quiet was what got to Jamie. It was too quiet. Too quiet for Hagrid's place, too quite in general, even this close to the Forest. It felt like when he'd been working at the Knockroe site last year, except that had been dark, empty passages leading to an underground tomb that had been hidden from muggles for centuries. This was...Hogwarts. Hogwarts shouldn't feel so dead.
What made that feeling twice as strange was the fact he could see pinpoints of light from the castle windows, indicating someone was clearly in residence.
He was about to say something to Al when a figure emerged, jogging toward them. When the person stumbled and the familiar voice erupted in the darkness, Jamie almost relaxed a fraction. "Ted? What-?" But, there was something still off about the whole thing, that had Jamie's instincts screaming at him, still. It took a moment, but he figured it out. His father's godson hadn't had that much of a baby face in several years. "What's with the throwback look? Did George or Fred put you up to this?"
