Re: Ron/Draco
"Nah. Hard to hate you after you didn't give us up." There were times when Ron wouldn't mind hexing Malfoy, but that was just for old time's sake and it would just be a little hex. "We were all stupid back then. We weren't innocent either, and we all made mistakes. Maybe if we'd tried to be a little more open-minded, things would have gone differently."
Ron supposed it was a testament to just how much Malfoy had changed if he was willing to admit what a dick his father was. That took balls. "It'd be different if he acted like he had any remorse, but he's really just sulking because we all know what a pathetic loser he is, isn't he?" Ron should maybe feel bad about talking about Malfoy's father this way, but he didn't.
"You mean Harry and Hermione won't have to make that decision for a while yet. We both know I'm just the good-looking muscle of the group," Ron said, good-naturedly. He was okay with his role in the group, and he'd back whatever play Harry and Hermione came up with. Not that he wouldn't add his thoughts or suggestions, but they were the leaders.
"Speaking of those two, here they come. I guess Hermione finally got free from Sirius trying to get her to dance," he said, a fond smile as he spotted Hermione get distracted again, this time by Remus. Harry was heading their way too. "I'll go get myself a drink, and talk to you later, ok?" Without waiting for an answer, and with a wave to Harry, Ron took himself off. He didn't need to watch the two of them make googly eyes at each other after all.
