"I don't think we've really been enemies in a while," Draco said, serious for the moment. "We both know what a real enemy looks like. So, as much as it pains me, I apologize for the things I did to you in school. I was stupid back then, and didn't understand, well, much of anything."
Draco didn't really understand it either. Of all the people, and of all the times, his father as he was about to step into his cell in Azkaban made the least amount of sense.
"No offense taken. I know what he did. What we did. I don't expect anyone to forgive that." He played absently with his glass. "The castle is large. We won't have to make that decision for a while yet. Well, I say we. You, Potter, and Granger won't have to make thet decision for a while yet."
Draco raised an eyebrow, accepting the half compliment in the spirit he assumed it was intended.
