Re: James & Teddy
Sirius was the natural hugger of their group. James had sort of picked it up thanks to constant exposure, but it wasn't something he typically extended to people he'd just met. Merlin, he hadn't even hugged Harry here. Was that weird? It was probably weird.
He finally caught the echo of Remus he was looking for in that split second before Teddy smiled. James would know that moment of hesitation anywhere, but decided not to push it. Not right now, anyway.
"I bet." He didn't like to think of Remus joining him in the 'parent of an orphaned child' club. At least James had had the benefit of actually having a baby before he'd been brought here. "How are you guys getting on?"
"Don't ask me, I'm still figuring it out." James grinned to disarm the words. 'Surviving' was probably the appropriate phrase for what he was doing here. He hesitated, pulling his hand through his hair thoughtfully, leaving one side on end.
"Helps to have people you know, though. I dunno what I'd have done if your Dad and Sirius weren't here. You know a few people from home, right?"
