There would probably be a point, James decided, when you got used to strangers addressing you by name. He just hadn't quite got there yet. He contented himself with a vaguely baffled look until there was a hand being offered and it all clicked into place.
"Right! Hey," James transferred his drink into the other hand and reached out to shake Teddy's warmly, a crooked grin already cracking his features. "The others were telling me about you. Sorry I missed you in the common room the other day... I got back late."
Perhaps he should have questioned the random pillow fort which had sprung up in the common room that night, but it probably said a lot about James' school career that he'd just accepted it and headed up to his room.
"How are you getting on?" He asked, taking a sip of his drink. He couldn't help examining the other wizard with some interest, looking for some hint of Remus in his features. Was that still how it worked with Metamorphmagi?
