"I'm all up for people getting along," James allowed. "Or at least not hexing each other." He was pretty sure that was the best they were going to get, considering the bad blood between a lot of them in his time. It was quite frankly a miracle no one had cracked already.
He hesitated, considering. Well, he was hardly going to do a Lucius was he? That was kind of sneaky of this new Malfoy. A small part of him was impressed, and he shot the other wizard a knowing look, then shrugged. "I love Harry," he said matter of factly. "I'm here for him whatever."
James rested on his forearms, listening to Scorpius talk. He'd had it in his head that this generation had had it easy, and in a lot of ways he still believed that. But perhaps they had a different set of hurdles to get over. He felt a tug of disquiet over that, especially when it came to his own family. He felt some strange protectiveness for them, despite the time separating their lives.
"Thats a load of shite," he frowned. "You'd have thought if anyone had earned some peace and quiet..." he trailed off thoughtfully, then pulled a smile back into place. "Still, maybe if you can get back to it again, they'll have something different to write about."
An entire wizarding community springing up out fo nowhere was at least worth a few positive headlines, right?
