"That's mental," said James, matter of factly, although he managed a small smile. Perhaps that was what it was like when you didn't have a war to fight. You got to do weird jobs with parties and free stuff. James had never really got that far. He'd applied to a programme when leaving school but then... well, it had all happened.

James didn't know Potters were able to be Slytherins.
"Really?" He asked, sure the surprise showed. James had never been good at hiding his emotions. Well... the rest of it sounded like a winner, anyway. Perhaps that made up for it? Although poor Lily; it didn't sound like the Evans genes got much of a look in. He shook his head.
"Its mad. Harry was only one a few weeks ago..." James tapped a finger absently against the wooden barrier. "Have you spoken to your family much?" He was kind of curious to know how the Malfoys had taken this new arrival.
