"My...class..." Remus repeated slowly, trying to wrap his head around the very idea. Sure, once upon a time he had thought teaching might be something he'd like. But, the very idea of a werewolf teaching in a school was ludicrous to him, now. Even if Dumbledore was insane enough to try it, the Board would never agree!
And, that was, perhaps, how it had only lasted a year.
"Well, that's something. I always did like Defense, although I always thought the curriculum rather lax in some ways. They only focus on direct counterspells, occasionally dealing with a dark creature or two." He couldn't fathom what kind of emergency might lead to anyone allowing him to teach. But, the ideas of what he could do with the curriculum were exciting.
Then he had a thought.
"I wasn't your Defense professor, then?" That would be a little weird, he thought, speaking to a woman around his age for whom he'd once been a professor in another life.
