Remus thought the house elves must have been as lonely as the castle, sometimes, with as eager as they were to help. Even more than they had always been. A simple request for hot chocolate and a few snacks had turned into three large baskets filled to the brim with food and self-warming carafes of hot chocolate. He wasn't sure where they were finding some of these things. Maybe they had access to some secretly preserved storage? Manoeuvring the baskets through the portrait hole, however, he was as surprised as Sirius at the size of the construction Teddy had created.
Laughing softly at the welcome, he made his way over to where Teddy was situated and floated the baskets inside where they could reach them. "So I see. You were productive while we were gone. I can see why you were the chief pillow fort constructor at school." Settling himself in beside Teddy, he waved at the baskets. "One for each of us. The house elves miss midnight kitchen raiders as much as the castle missed students and magic, I think. Hope you've got an appetite. But, don't feel like you have to finish everything. We can always save anything that's left for tomorrow."
