There was a small part of Lucius that insisted that yes, he should be happy for Draco if he was in love. It wasn't all that common for people of their station to find love. Lucius had with Narcissa, and he should wish that for his son as well. He knew that's what Narcissa would say if she were here. But there was a larger part of him that pointed out that it was Potter and Potter was male, and it was not at all acceptable for the Malfoy heir to carry-on publicly with a man, even if that man was famous. Especially when that man was Potter.
"I could think of very many ways he could have done better." For Merlin's sake, the Nott boy would have been a better choice if Draco was going to be gay. At least he knew what was proper and what was not. "But there's no need to worry yourself about it. Draco and I will have a talk sooner or later."
Scorpius' request made him pause a moment. There was a lot wrong with the boy, with how he'd been raised and who he presented himself to be to the world, but he did have one thing right. He was his grandfather, and that meant something.
"If you must," he said, but gave Scorpius a small but genuine smile. "It is very good to meet you, Scorpius. I do mean that."
