"Yeah, sorry," he said with an apologetic look. "Didn't mean you. My... my parents and friends act like that. Like I deliberately went out and got bitten. Like I did it to myself." He drew in a deep breath then let it out in a gusty sigh. He managed a small smile. "That sounds nice. To be able to get a job and a place to stay and not worry about losing them in a month. That sound really nice."
He nodded slowly. "I'll talk to him. It sounds weird. Kind of great too but weird. I don't really remember much about what happens on the full. Just wake up the next morning feeling like shit and covered in blood." He continued hastily, "My blood. Not anyone else's."
"Huh. Not the one I know of," he said with a shrug. "Or not know of really. Just thought I heard the name mentioned in the Ministry when I was last in there. Maybe it's his dad or something." He gave a small huff that might have been laughter. "Twenty-four. Yeah, let's do it properly next month. A proper party sounds a lot better than getting a door slammed in my face and sleeping rough here."
He joined her as they headed for the castle. "Might need to de-flea myself as well," he said ruefully. "I think there was something other than me using the bed in that last place. Something small and crawly." He brightened a little. "Hey! Is the prefects' bathroom still around? That place had a great bath." He grinned. "One of the Slytherin prefects snuck the whole team in after we won a big game against Gryffindor. We almost accidentally drowned our Seeker in the bath while we were mucking around."
