"So your real mistake was not going back after you knew it wanted to kill you and set them all on fire before he could help the Dark Lord. Gryffindors, all bravery and no follow through," he said, but there was a tiny smile on his face. "I despise people like that, all about the stars and the moon. I'm all for word games, but at a certain point, you sound mad."
Regulus snorted. "It's not just Hogwarts, is it? There's no Hogsmeade, no Diagon Alley, no St. Mungo's, not even a Ministry. Those are all hubs of society."
He listened to the explanation and the implications smack him in the face. "He was a bloody half-blood. Now that makes sense! He talked about pureblood superiority, but he killed anyone. He had no idea about traditions we had." He huffed. "He was a little sad child that wanted what we - you and me - have just by our birth. How bloody ironic." The information about Severus sounded like Severus. "So no way to know if I could have trusted back in my day, and Dumbledore was always a cold bastard, so no surprise there."
Regulus thought for a momeht, before shaking his head. "I don't think it'd be a problem. The horcruxes have to exist for him to have immortality. They have been destroyed. But assuming that what I know is wrong, then what? We can still kill him and he vanquishes. Then someone needs to bring him back. Do you see many people with the inclination and skills to do that? Do you really think even a Death Eater would see this destruction and think 'oh let's bring him back so we can kill all the Muggleborns'. The only one crazy enough would be Bella and she wouldn't have the knowledge."
