"I understand, and that's why I said it compared to death, Azkaban, rat and werewolf is the best option. I admit that it's a very low bar," Regulus said with a sigh. "It's probably the only thing that doesn't make me hex Potter on principle." And he knew how hypocritical he was being, but Potter was the one who stole his brother. The other two had just gone along for the ride.
"No, I'm not surprised either. Narcissa is a Black. If I quickly decided that he was too arrogant for a Black, I imagine that the only reason Narcissa lasted that long is because she didn't deal with him." He was pretty sure that his own parents might have hexed the Dark Lord if they had been in contact with him. "Fear teaches you a whole lot of things, and Lucius has always been a coward. Also, he's only loyalty is to himself and his decision to follow the Dark Lord was a bet on who'd come on top, not political ideology."
Regulus grinned. "Your lavish compliments, I'm blushing," he said with humour in his voice. He raised his glass. "To you and me, outlasting the Dark Lord and creating a new life."
