Re: Remus/Sirius
Snorting, Remus poked a finger mostly gently into Sirius' side. "Laying it on a bit thick, there, Black." Even if he knew Sirius was joking, it was still nice to hear such sentiments and not wonder how much was going to be asked of him for too little money to keep him going another few days. Actually, knowing Sirius was joking made it nice. Funny how much he could still trust his friend despite the past couple years of distrust and devastation. But, except for those few months following the incident with Snape at the shack, Remus had always had trouble not trusting Sirius.
"I'm sorry I doubted you. I should have known you never would have hurt James. I think part of me did know, or just couldn't accept it. But everything happened so fast at the end and no one would tell me anything..." He did pull away, then, not to get away from the moment, but to be able to look Sirius in the face so his friend could read the sincerity of the apology for himself. "I'm sorry, Pads. I should have trusted you."
Smiling a bit softly to break the seriousness again, he added "And our reputations, at least, will certainly last that long. But, I'll settle for all of us getting to live an actual life now, not dying too young, or wasting away in prison, or wondering where the next meal is coming from...or even living as a rat for a decade."
