Re: Remus/Sirius
"Padfoot," Remus protested weakly. He could have easily broken free if he wanted and they both knew it. But, the truth was Remus needed this more than he'd thought. He'd grown distant from people, using friendly gestures as a way of keeping people at a distance, afraid to get too close because of what he was. But, in that moment, he was also realizing that it was because he'd had close friendships, friends he'd trusted enough to let close for 'cuddle parties', and lost them. He'd been protecting himself as much as anyone else.
Giving in, he let Sirius latch on like an octopus and settled against his friend more comfortably. "You might be biased?" he asked with a soft chuckle. "But, yes, this is our second chance to make a better world than the one we knew, to do right by everyone. Including ourselves." He paused for a moment. "And let's try not to die before we're middle-aged this time? At least...seventy."
