Albus had heard a lot about Severus Snape. Some good, some bad. All he really knew for sure was that the man had some kind of relationship with his older self. Albus didn't know the details, but he had a feeling it was significant. If he was honest he avoided looking too closely at his future. The idea of it made him uncomfortable, especially considering the looks he occasionally caught the others giving him out of the corner of their eye.
Albus just wanted to teach. Anything other than that had been given up nearly a decade ago. Still, it was difficult not to wonder when the future confronted you at every turn, or came billowing down at you along a library stack.
"Good morning," he replied mildly, glancing up at the older man. "Are you looking for something? I'm afraid I've amassed quite the collection..."
Albus' bright blue gaze travelled in the direction of the pile of books on the table. Perhaps he should have whittled down that pile before adding to it, but it usually made sense to him to have all the information before discounting things.
