Judging from the stranger’s initial reaction, Zidane guessed that they had never seen a tailed Human before. An all-too-easy guess, at that. It could be said that Zidane was used to it by now, being the only Human with a monkey tail.. just the same as you could say the opposite.
Perhaps an introduction wasn’t what the guy needed to hear, but learning Zidane’s name couldn’t have hurt. When it became clear that his handshake wouldn’t be accepted in this life-time, Zidane lowered his hand, sighing. Either this guy wasn’t that friendly, or there was something else going on. Communication problems, maybe.
If that was true, then… Zidane started trying to think of how to get the message across, that this place was, in simple terns, weird but safe. Ish. An explanation would have to wait, though, because the other guy looked like he was either sick, or drunk. Probably sick, or weakened from something anyway. He took a step forward, ready to catch the guy if he was ready to face-plant onto the floor, but Nameless steadied himself.
“Byakuya.. Odd name. “ And vice versa: Zidane Tribal couldn’t be any more normal-sounding than Byakuja Togami. He crossed his arms over his chest, resting most of his weight on one leg. “Really? I doubt you’d believe my story, or where you are, really. Here is… here. They call this a hospital.” It wasn’t like any hospital from his home world, but that was to be expected, especially since the food in this town replenished itself.. When it wanted to.
There was an awkward pause before he continued talking, albeit his tone had slightly changed. “You can stop staring at it, you know. It’s just a tail.” For emphasis, the entire length of his tail curved into an ’S’ shape, relaxed, the tip lowering to the floor.
“You’re in this hospital, and this hospital is in a town called Hobb’s End. There are a few of us here, but we’re all on our own. No one seems to know anyone from their own world, so I’d say you’re the only one from wherever it is that you came from.”
