I regret to inform everyone that my friend [![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) odaw & evieb] won't be joining us after all. Her internet issues are not going to be fixed anytime soon, so she told me to request that her characters be removed. Also, I want to apologize for my slowness to reply to things. I am in summer classes and things have really sped up lately, draining me of time and energy. I am doing my best and normally, the weekends are my best times. This is a new schedula for me, so I'm now pretty sure I'll be on mostly on the weekend and sporadically during the week. If this turns you away from threading with me, or something, I'm terribly sorry. I love it here and I plan to stay. I am aiming to bring my other character [mattadd] in by the weekend, should thinks pan out. I really look forward to plotting and playing with EVERYONE. I'd love some random scenes, just know it'll take a little while to finish them. I'll be trying to be more efficient as I get used to the class strains. Sorry for any trouble, and happy Monday! |

Hi!! I'm Em and I bring you Mak Cates. I have another character, Matt, who'll be coming in as soon as I finish my art homework. Summer classes are hell sometimes. Anywho! Mak, here, was born in California, raised in both Los Angeles and in Manhattan, New York. She's living with three friends [evieb, odaw, and mattadd] in Indigo Run and she owns and runs a jewelry boutique here, in Hilton Head. The boutique also features Mak's paintings and other photography and artwork by Evie Black. She's also the morningtime DJ on the local station 109.2, (which automatically means she ought to know Nika and Cooper!).
Mak is really a firecracker. She is chock full of energy, sarcasm, and witty comments that she loves to share, whether you really want to hear them or not. Of course, she really enjoys good, quality conversations; philosophical or not. She's a lot of fun to be around, but she is kind of private when it comes to the goings on of her private life and brutally honest to people when she feels they need it. She loves playing musical instruments, riding her Schwinn bike around HH, surfing, and many other high-risk and low-risk activities (dressing up to go see the new Harry Potter flim, and obsessively watching Ghost Adventures and So You Think You Can Dance). She'll befriend anybody that's down-to-earth and will probably hate anyone that's rude without reason.
If you see a quirky brunette riding an old, yellow Schwinn down the road, that'll be Mak, and feel free to throw something at her, hit her with your car, or ride your bike along with her! I'd love any and all interaction, so if you get the urge, comment her bio or IM me on she baroque it. Enough babbling. Back to my pointillism drawing. |

I AM IN HILTON HEAD.
Seriously. I've been taking notes too (and um...I've stalked Iain's church. I like to use real details, so things like the name of his church are real. And I went there to check it out). Tomorrow I shall be going to Sea Pines to check out the general area - I won't go to Kai's house ;)
We're having massive storms here, apparently there was one yesterday while I was in Savannah and there was one tonight. Major rain and thunder/lightning. It was awesome.
Beaches are awesome. I'm staying in Palmetto Dunes and it's great, lots of biking paths and things. Tennis, kayaking, etc. Tomorrow I'm going horseback riding in Sea Pines - there's a nature preserve. Sea Pines has a marina and lots of touristy restaurants, shops et al. I bet that's where our mythical boardwalk would be ;)
Tourists suck btw (yes, I am one) - especially on Saturdays when there is the mass exodus and then the arrival of new ones in the afternoon.

Hai gais! I'm Courteney and this girl here is Patricia King. She's twenty six and already lies about her age because she misses being twenty five (26 is closer to thirty than twenty! says she). She's new to the area, having been recently hired as a secretary, and moved from New York. She's good at her job but she's somewhat, sort of, pretty unprofessional. She likes bright colors. And she's very very bubbly. And she doesn't fully understand the meaning of the word "no", which she should really work on---maybe. She likes dogs (and hers runs her life), sweets (seriously, the girl can put away pie like it's her job), and technology (particularly Mac. When the iPhone came out she jizzed in her pants XD). She also has hundreds of shoes, is afraid of deep water and drowning--and she's on an island. Irony is a stone cold bitch.
Her aim is trishastheking and I am up for any plottage!

Right, so, I completely forgot to ever do this and that's so my bad. It's been a hectic week. Anyway, this is Anya Parker and we were added... Almost a week ago. Wow. Anya here is 17 and a runaway from Florida who swung through Hilton Head Island on her way north, but was found by Rhys who is now going to be helping her. She's got a rocky background and she's pretty quiet and insecure, has trouble trusting anyone, but she's working on that I swear. The more comfortable she get, the more she'll open up to people, though she has a deep rooted fear of any form of authority because she's terrified of being turned in and forced back to her former home, which she'd do just about anything to avoid seeing ever again. Despite all this, she's polite and has a true desire to make friends and find a new life here.
So, I'm usually around on aim at 'whats anya mind' and I promise I don't bite, so if anyone wants to work something out or just give an attempt at a thread, feel free to hit me up. If my away is up, feel free to leave a message and I can get back to you, or make use of the message drop-off post up in her journal. It's been a while since I've been in a writing focused game and I've missed it so much, I can't even begin to tell you. So needless to say, I'm really hoping me and Anya can find our niche here! |

Hi everyone. I just joined the community and was added this morning ( or last night? Not sure.). And I have brought in Derrick. Derrick was raised on a ranch in Texas, so he's a good old southern boy (for the most part). At the age of seventeen he left home, though it wasn't on the best of circumstances, and he had decided to join the navy. Derrick was born into a wealthy, high class, sort of family, but he doesn't let the money go to his head. He was in the navy until he was twenty nine, and decided to leave once his father had passed away. He initially came to Hilton Head looking for the girl he used to love, his high school sweetheart of sorts, but fell in love with the scenery and beaches and decided to stay. He is very into the outdoors and loves the vibe that Hilton Head tends to give off.
Basically he is in need of any and all kinds of lines. So if you have any ideas feel free to throw them my way. You can also reach me on his SN Navy Der, and I promise I don't bite (at least not to hard.). I'm really looking forward to playing him, and playing against some of you all. |

Hey Hilton Head! This is Kylie Taylor. She's 25 and originally from Charleston, but her entire life she's spent her summers here because her grandparents lived on the island. She's now living in her grandmother's old house in Windmill Harbor. She's the local Yoga instructor at the Yacht Club Sports Center. She's very outgoing and very...'carpe diem' shall we say. She's also fairly quirky, she's got a sexy sensual side to her but she's also a complete nerd, very book smart, and also very into comic books. She has a degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She loves to travel, she loves the beach and she loves reading. A little more detail about her can be found in the facts in her journal. I'm looking for anything and everything as far as storylines go: Friends, people that frequent the sports club that she might know, people who have been on the island a long time that she may have known from her summers here, neighbors in Windmill Harbor, people she goes to church with on Sunday etc.
It would also be amazing if someone was interested in bring in her ex-boyfriend, which wouldn't necessarily have to be a romantic line, her brother who she's really close to (he's two years older than her, is married and has a son (named Kyle in honor of his aunt) who's turning 2 on memorial day), and her sister in law.
I will probably be answering the memorial day thread at one point or another to get some interaction going for this crazy chica, but if anyone would like to do a separate thread I would be happy to throw one up today either before I go see Star Trek with my brother and his film geek friends. |

Hey there, everyone.
I'm just giving a shout to let everyone know that I'm gearing up for my summer job! I'll be headed up to the boonies mountains to work as a program manager at a Girl Scout resident camp, so I'll have very limited internet access while I'm there. So I'll be hiatusing from May 18th-August 1st. I hope that y'all won't forget about me :)
Oh, crap. Penny-s, I'm sorry we didn't get a lottery thread worked on. I've been so harried lately getting ready. :(

He's the ex-vocalist of a well known rock band and he's originally from Melbourne, Australia but just moved here from New York with his new(as Brake-s mentioned) boyfriend Brake. Hey, everyone!
So, I'm posting to try to solicit some threading/plotting ideas from the masses. This here's Templeton, and he's a great guy, just a little shy and keeps to himself. I'm hoping to get him to branch out a little, be more social, but he's kind of awkward, especially when it comes to inserting himself into new situations. He doesn't like to intrude.
Anyway, he really needs people to help pull him out of his shell. He's a local mechanic and knows a good deal about fixing cars. He's also extremely knowledgeable about nature and wildlife. He needs friends, enemies, interaction of some sort -- any sort, really!
Oh, and Penny-s, we should figure out something for our lottery thread! |
