Cooper couldn't believe what Tommy was making him do. The only reason that Cooper could call into work was that he had his landline hooked up and the storm hadn't ripped that away from him ... yet. He had no power, so his fridge had to stay closed as much as possible, as well as he had to open all his unopened boxes to find the stupid flashlight he hadn't unpacked yet so that he could make his way around his own house. But that was beyond the point.
He called Tommy to see if he had to come into work, due to the storm and all. He really didn't want to be driving in it if he didn't have to considering his show started at 4pm, during the full swing of the storm. Cooper thought that Tommy would be sympathetic to his plight considering the fact that Cooper didn't have power at the time that he called. But no, Tommy told Cooper, in no uncertain terms, that he expected Cooper to be in the studio that night, and to put on a full show, even if JWB was the only place in Hilton Head that had power. Cooper wasn't even supposed to comment on the weather. He was supposed to do a normal show, playing any music he felt necessary. He was even supposed to do his normal call-in session. Sometimes, Cooper really hated his boss.
So, rushing to get to his car, and getting soaked on the way, Cooper fought the storm to get into the station on time. He had no extra clothes to wear so Cooper groaned knowing that he'd have to do his show in wet clothes waiting for them to dry. He was not happy with this assessment.
He tried to cover himself up as well as he could, going into the station. He had about fifteen minutes to spare, but he was nearly soaked to the bone as he trudged his way up to the studio. He hoped the storm would be done by the time hi show was over, but he wasn't sure it would be. He just wanted to be dry by the time he got out of the studio. He made it to the studio just as Nika was finishing up the last few minutes of her show. Cooper sat in the hall next to the studio, far too lazy and tired to even make it any farther.
